Having met at a gig and instantly bonded over T.Rex and David Bowie, psych-glam rockers FLING received support for early singles from Wonderland Magazine (‘Alt-pop perfection’) and Clash Music (‘An irresistible pop package’), as well as building an online fanbase they call ‘Flingers’ who caught the band at Neighbourhood Festival, Live at Leeds, and Liverpool Sound City in 2017. That year also saw sold-out hometown shows and playing to a packed Festival Republic tent at Leeds Festival.
Radio support has come from the likes of Steve Lamacq (6Music), Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Radio X and Beats 1, as well as playlist support at Spotify during 2017 and 2018 as the band work towards the release of their debut album ‘Fling or Die’.
Describing themselves as ‘Wonky Pop’ the 5 piece from Bradford have become known for their out-there videos including DIY puppet shows, theatrical re-workings of Monty Python sketches and animated sequences of the band riding giant dogs.
FLING are managed by Futuresound Group, published by DTTR Publishing and release their music on Dance to the Radio Records.
